We are excited to be hosting FREE Open Studios again this year on two upcoming Saturdays. Call ahead to get on the schedule Half-hour bookings will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Walk-in clients will be helped as time permits.

April 14th, from 11am to 2pm.

This is a great opportunity to bring your questions, photos and measurements to the designers and horticulturists at Phillips Garden to receive great advice for your home landscape. If you are considering a landscape project, this is a perfect way to test the waters and get some fresh ideas from experts in horticulture and design with over 75 years of collective experience.

This is also a great opportunity to see and experience our award winning design studio and the first ever rooftop weeHouse.

Phillips Garden once operated a coffee shop and nursery from their location, though both have been closed in favor of the design/build and maintenance aspect of the business. We can still serve delicious espresso to guests, so be prepared for a great cup of joe at the Open Studio as well.

New Space at Brasa Mpls

We’ve been working on expanding the outdoor spaces at Brasa Mpls. Here we used compacted limestone aggregate to create a large overflow area. The perimeter of the space is planted with Serviceberry and Sobaria ‘Sem’ to softly enclose the space. The planting bed is also slightly contoured to capture runoff before it reaches the sidewalk and street. Check back for finished photos later.

Take a look at the finished bluestone walk. Nice transformation from the old hosta lined walk. (see the before photo in the post “First Project of the Season”) Still waiting for the post lamp for the stone column.

First Project of the Season

It’s official. We started our 2010 install season last week with a new bluestone walk. We are replacing a very uneven and dated paver walk with cut and patterned bluestone to create a timeless look. Take a peek at the progress.
